Those in ministry often feel as though they are “alone on an island.” Being called to ministry comes with many tasks that can leave you feeling overwhelmed and isolated. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable and seek help may feel daunting.  Experiencing fears that you are not ‘good enough’ or getting stuck on tasks/goals causing you to miss the spiritual formations that keep you grounded.
The gift of teaching and the call to overseer, deacon, or elder are both wonderful and intimidating things, but God wants you to know His grace through the different aspects of these callings. Counseling provides a safe and trusted space for you to be vulnerable and work through the trials that come with this calling. Spouses and family members often find it difficult to be vulnerable in church group settings out of fear of being judged or seen as weak. Alpas Counseling provides a neutral space for all members of the family to allow themselves to share the difficult parts and receive guidance based on Biblical truths and principles while also receiving interventions from evidenced based therapeutic theories. Ultimately, as a believer you are a child of God and he wants you to experience His grace and provision as you move forward in the calling He has given you. Do not be afraid to reach out for help; there is no shame in doing so.

Our Licensed Professional Counselor has received specialized training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT).  TFCBT is an evidenced-based program specifically designed for children up to 17 years of age.  This therapy program allows kids who have experienced trauma to work through all of the complicated feelings that can come from a traumatic event.  Your child will learn skills to help feel safe and calm whenever they are remembering their trauma, as well as helping both the child and family learn ways to adapt and overcome the effects of a traumatic experience. Children thrive when they feel heard. Here at Alpas, it is important to us that you know your child will be treated with kindness and respect. We want healing for people of all ages; children included. If you are interested in the process of TFCBT and whether it would be a good fit for you and your child please contact us.
